Corn in Field York Pennsylvania
Perhaps it was the way the wind was blowing in December but this is how the feed corn looked then. I snapped it on the way to work with my smartphone. Any farmer will tell you that there is something wrong with the fact there was still green in the corn in the middle of a so called East Coast winter. Our winter was mild here. Maybe the corn is swaying a bit in protest, but no sooner did I see the one day where they gone the next.

John Deere Country Shrewsbury Water Tower
The field of John Deere tractors is worth seeing, so much larger than this. Everything from the 100 series to gators to 700 series small farm tractors and front end loaders. Some are $10 and up, so it's like a field of dreams. Further back is a field of half dead refurbished ones. In fact they have a sign that says, "Don't Feed the Deere". This of course this photo was taken at the Tractor Supply Company in York. The Shrewsbury Water Tower that has a wonderful US flag and is a bright blue . This day it was raining out and crappy so this is what we have, antiqued and lovely.

Village Loans Industrial Sign York PA
Lovely Village Loans sign on East Market Street in York PA. Unlike Baltimore where they rip down old signs like the McInnes sign and scrap them, I am very happy to report this sign has been around for awhile. The only problem is I don't know if this is considered York City or County, so you tell me. It's located at :
1771 East Market Street York, PA 17402

Shady Lane Stonework Galore
Wee stone building at the intersection of 181 (N. George Street) and Shady Lane. This is a great part of industrial history. With it's real stone archway, what's not to love? The window reminds me of something from medieval times! In truth I was told it was a trolley stop, but whatever it is, It's part of the Shady Lane Estates, a historical group of stone homes that are at one end of Shady Lane. You can read about the lovely property here and see more wonderful photos. If you don't recognize the building from this shot, maybe read this post on the York Blog and see more about this little building and some great shots.

Central Market House York PA
The Central Market House in York was constructed in 1888 and is THE PLACE to go for fresh vegetables, meats, or just to shop and see what local vendors have in store for you! Their website boasts "fresh local flavor" and I can't wait to go and see what they have in store. From the outside I am in love with the old sign and building!

God is Love Sign York Pennsylvania
Old Neon Sign at 119 N. George Street in York, Pennsylvania. In the middle of the bustling city, a constant reminder that God is love. Above the sign is another sign, metal cross with the words "Grace and Hope Mission" which as of today is still operational in York, PA. See another shot of this sign with cross here from Kevin Moore's Photo Stream.
